June 27, 2004 -- The Dreams of Freedom charity is a unique 501c3 charity that helps people most of society rejects. With a mission statement based on a John Denver song of "Love is the answer," this charity gives love unconditionally to all those in need in prisons, homes for unwed teen mothers, nursing home residents, pediatric wards, Native American reservations, hospice, and more.

Talk about unique? It was started by one woman, Christine Smith, six years ago.

"I wish I could help every prison inmate have the basic necessities. If only more people cared," Smith says.

Founded in memory of John Denver, because Smith says it was from him that she learned just what love is, "John taught me through his life and his example that love is unconditional and due every living thing."

She has appeared on numerous radio talk shows internationally, and invites anyone interested in speaking with her, supporting the charity or anyone from a facility who might want the free program of music, videos, and humanitarian items to contact her through the website www.johndenverlegacy.com
