IPCORP Announces the Launch of “IDme” a New Emergency I. D.
Aurora, Colorado, July 25, 2002-
IPCORP, a new Colorado based business, announces the introduction of “IDme” (pronounced I.D. me), an iron-on clothing label custom printed with data to allow prompt identification, quick notification of family and informed medical care during emergencies.
The customer provides the information to be printed on the IDme label such as name, the contact telephone numbers for notification in addition to important medical information like known allergies, blood type, medications, existing medical conditions, and so forth. “These labels are truly invaluable for emergency care” stated Dr. Rose-Marie Nelson, a public health administrator who moved from New Orleans to assist in this venture as its President.
The IDme product is a 2”x 1” white polyester iron-on, label that adheres on clothing with minimal effort. The placement of the label is standardized: behind the collar of items of outerwear and on the right outside portions of underwear. The IDme label can withstand endless washings without fading or coming loose from the garment. “Parents can apply these labels with an iron, quickly and easily, as they watch over their favorite television program if they choose” stated Maggie Alfred, M.D who is the mother of two children.
The distinctive IDme logo and predictable location of the label on the wearer’s clothing will help emergency response personnel in quickly identifying victims of accidents, large scale disasters and other emergencies. During times of chaos and commotion, perhaps one of the most important things for a victim, regardless of age is to be called by his or her name. The IDme label will facilitate that simple act which emergency response workers recognize as being invaluable when assisting victims at the scene of a disaster or in relocation centers.
“Like other Americans we followed the events of Columbine and September 11th and agonized with the families of victims as well as rescue workers who were all attempting to identify individuals at the scene and get them to their families or, in tragic cases, at least let people know what had happened to their loved ones. We think the IDme is an answer to these concerns” added IPCORP officers.
Compared to other emergency I.D. products now available on the market, the cost of the IDme is really minimal, just a few cents per label. For the peace of mind that it provides, the IDme label is a true bargain within reach of any budget.
IPCORP has researched other emergency response products, conducted focus group discussions with schools, police personnel and parents whose children were at Columbine High School. The company concluded that IDme is a necessary product that addresses a uniformly perceived need for safety.
