Each dress takes time to be put together so that it is of the highest quality and follows the couture design. This does not allow for mass production, which many business principles are based on. I am trying to take the proven theories and apply them to a whole new process. It’s very exciting!”

This small company also has lofty goals. Not only does it hope to allow the average consumer access to couture gowns, it has other hopes too. “We want to help others in our community,” says Kathryn. They do this by hiring women of all shapes and sizes to do their modeling, taking on interns from local design schools and assisting experienced seamstresses become their own entrepreneurs. “We currently have a young lady assisting us whose husband has been working three jobs to allow her to stay home with their children. The income she has made from us has helped her family by allowing her husband to quit one of his jobs. You can’t believe how rewarding that is for us,” says Nalana.
